Sec 3: BBC A Midsummer's Night Dream (Part II)

In-class:
- Students shared what songs they chose for different types of love
- Re-capped the previous viewing of BBC's MSND
- Students watched BBC's MSND (stopped at Act 3 Scene 2)
- Students completed supplementary questions for the movie

Homework:
- Finish reading MSND
- MSND Jigsaw QUIZ on Monday (12 April, 2010)

You'll be given either quotes or scenarios from MSND and be able to know which Act and Scene they are from.

Examples
1) "The course of true love never did run smooth" - Which Act and Scene is this from?
2) The climax of the play: the four main characters are in conflict with one another. - Which Act and Scene is this from?

Sec 3: BBC A Midsummer's Night Dream

In-class:
- Students watched BBC's MSND (stopped at Act 2 Scene 2)
- Students completed supplementary questions for the movie
- Students were encouraged to consider what are the differences between the movie and the play, and what techniques did the director employ to deal with these changes

Homework:
- Finding a love song to represent...
A) A perfect love
B) An unrequited love
C) An unappreciated or obsessive love
D) Any other types of love (Be creative!)

Sec 3: An Introduction to A Midsummer's Night Dream

- Students watched several trailers of MSND as an introduction to the play
- Students given time in class to read MSND



Homework:
- Finish reading MSND
- Creative homework: please choose one to complete
A) Pick a quote from pages 58 - 59 (under KEY QUOTES) and represent it with an illustration. Include who says it, and which Act, Scene and Line it's from.




B) Bring a picture of a hollywood actor / actress to represent one of the four main characters in MSND (e.g. Jeanette Aw for Hermia, Dai Yang Tian for Lysander, etc)

C) Bring pictures to represent Athens, the forest, or the fairy world
